MOUNT KENYA MAY BECOME NATIONAL PARK SITE

Kenya's National Park is as yet only a small area adjoining the capital, Nairobi, but it holds a great variety of game and is of quite surprising faunal value.

It is very likely that the high moorlands of Mount Kenya will be proclaimud a National Park in the near future. In this arca thore will be very little game of any intercst, although tho approaches to it through the forest zone are full of elephants rhino and buffalo. The idea of establishing this particular arca as a National Park would be to make its vory great spectacular interest available to the public to make it possible in time for people to roach an altitudo of perhaps 13,000 feet without claborate mountaineering equipment, and from there to see glaciers, emerald tarns and all the strange array of grotesque looking Alpino vogotation.

Somu of Konya's prohistoric, historical and archoological sitos may also come under the protection of the Kenya National Park Trustoos. These would include the ruins of Gedi at the coast, the Portugueso fort in Mombasa and pro-historic culture in the Rift Valloy dating back nearly 250,000 years. The variety of interest that can be found in these centros ranges from pro-history to mountain forost scenury, from hot, desert-liko plains to mountain streams, with in many cases. the added thrill of big and small game.
